In the Bioinspired Robotics and System Laboratory, we are interested in the mechanism, sensing, control, locomotion, interaction, etc., of creatures in nature. We are trying to create intelligent robots and systems for real applications in many areas, such as smart city, smart hospital, intelligent manufacturing, search and rescue, space exploration, etc.
We are working on bio-inspired jumping and flapping locomotion robot design. We are also trying to develop rovers for landing, anchoring, moving, and sampling on the microgravity asteroid surface and astronomical telescope monitoring on the snowy environment for Antarctic Plateau exploration.
Recently, we have been interested in artificial intelligence for active sensing and control of robotics, especially for medical robots and rehabilitation robots. The wearable robotic devices with multiple channel information gathering and analyzing functions for health monitoring, management, and rehabilitation are also our research priorities.
We are designing new machines inspired by nature and developing novel robots based on advanced science and technologies in material, mechanics, sensing, control, etc.
